Lloyd Harris, born on February 24, 1997, in Cape Town, South Africa, discovered his love for tennis at the tender age of 3. Despite exploring other national sports like rugby and cricket during his teenage years, Lloyd’s passion for tennis remained unwavering.
At 21, Lloyd achieved a significant milestone by entering the top 100 of the ATP Ranking, becoming only the fourth South African player to accomplish this feat in 15 years. His breakthrough performances in 2021, including reaching his first Grand Slam quarterfinal at the US Open and his first ATP 500 final in Dubai, beating the likes of Nadal, Thiem and Shapovalov, propelled him to a career-high ranking of No. 31 in the world. Lloyd’s journey in professional tennis has been marked by setbacks and triumphs. Despite a wrist injury in 2022 that hindered his progress, he underwent a successful operation and made a strong comeback in 2023, reclaiming his position in the top 150. In 2024 he is back to winning ways which he demonstrated impressively by winning the two ATP Challenger tournaments in Shenzen and Gwangju.

Lloyd Harris – 25 years old – from Cape Town is a professional tennis player and a leader of the next generation that will lead the ATP Tour. Lloyd started playing tennis at 3yo. but spent most of his teenage back home in South Africa trying also other sports like rugby and cricket. He only decided to commit professionally to tennis at age 15.
At 21 years old, Lloyd entered the top 100 of the ATP Ranking and became only the fourth South African tennis player to reach this milestone and the second in 15 years. Since 2018, Lloyd has been steadily climbing the rankings and after his great 2021 season where he reached his first Grand Slam Quarter-final, first ATP 500 final and beat the likes of Nadal, Thiem and Shapovalov, Lloyd reached a career-high ranking no.31 in the world.
